GPS tracker does not connect to GPS server

Main reasons why GPS tracking device refuses to connect to GPS server:

    1. Make sure you are using the correct server IP and PORT. Visit the compatible devices page, click on your device model for more details.
    2. The device must have an internet connection. Make sure the APN (Access Point Name) is set correctly and that the SIM card has credit for the Internet connection.
    3. The device must have good GPS signal strength. Mount the GPS device (or its external antenna) at the highest point of the vehicle.

If after checking all the above, the device fails to connect to a server, contact us, our experts will help you find a solution.

The travel route looks like a jumble of lines, how to solve this?

While viewing the history of the places, the route seems inconsistent and inappropriate.

The following example shows a route caused by incorrect time zone settings.

The GPS tracking device sends data that includes the time and date based on an internally configured time zone. In order for the GPS server to properly recognise the incoming data, the time zone of the GPS tracking device must be set to UTC+0. For some devices it is not possible to change the time zone. It can still be fixed, the correct time zone can be adjusted in the GPS tracking account by setting the time zone offset.

    1. Set the time zone UTC+0 in the GPS tracking device configuration. Refer to the GPS tracking device manual for instructions.
    2. Set the UTC+0 time zone in the accuracy settings of the GPS tracking account.
    3. Set the correct time zone in GPS tracking account user settings.
    4. In the GPS tracking account, delete the route history to recapture the correct data.

If after checking all the above, the problem persists, contact us, our experts will help you find a solution.

Travel route contains straight lines between data points

A straight line crossing the map between location data points means that the GPS tracking unit no longer has access to location data at a particular location and no GPS signal is present. As long as there is no GPS signal, the coordinates have not been stored and data loss occurs. In such a case, a straight line is drawn from the point where the GPS signal was lost to the next point where the GPS signal connection was restored.

    1. GPS antenna must have good signal strength. Mount the GPS device (or its external antenna) at the highest point of the vehicle.
    2. GPS signal strength is weak or absent near tall buildings, indoors, or underground. For best results, use GPS tracker outdoors.
    3. To get a detailed and good looking tracking route, it is recommended that the device sends data to the server every 10-20 seconds.
